Diggin' It - January

Sure, the holidays are over, but maybe you've got an Amazon gift card just burning a hole in your pocket. Here are a few things that I'm digging right now.


The January Diggin' It list seems to be all about self-care. I have been slaying my recent goal of doing something active every single day, and these tools are a must for warmups and recovery days.

Trigger Point Technologies Quad Baller Massage Roller. I bought this little gem a few years ago, but lately my body has been storing a crazy amount of tension in my hip flexors and quads. The Quad Baller is my best/worst friend. Let's just say it's not pleasant, but definitely effective. Yes, I still use a traditional foam roller, but this is more effective for the quads. 


The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook, 3rd Edition

Another tool in my professional arsenal, this workbook has helped get me (and my clients) through some rough times. Although likely intended as a reference for massage therapists, chiropractors, and the like, it has simple and easy to follow drawings and written instructions. Everyday folks can navigate this text pretty easily. My copy is well-worn, and I'm sure yours will be, too!


Foot Rubz Hand and Foot Massage Ball  I mentioned this in our 2016 EF Gift Guide, but since we are talking about self-care this month, I thought I should list it again. After a LONG hiatus from running (plantar fasciitis, pregnancy, recovery from pregnancy, and broken foot = 2.5 yrs YIKES!!), I need to take special care of my feet and fascia. 2-4 minutes a day with this ball really helps. Even if you don't have foot pain, this is fantastic preventive medicine.
